First you exfoliate. Then you moisturize.

Not long ago a friend of mine asked me ” do you exfoliate before you moisturize, or moisturize before you exfoliate?” “Of course”, I replied. “First you exfoliate. then you moisturize.” If we moisturize over dead skin, our pores clog and the moisturizer is not able to nourish our skin. To truly receive the nurturing and healing benefits of moisturizing, you have to first shed the old, the tired and the dead. So goes life. I saw that the Women’s fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation was offering to support the renewal of a woman who serves as a non-profit organization executive. last year, when I first heard of their efforts to support women, I was too busy and burnt out to fill out the application.
This year, people kept bringing the opportunity back to my attention.
On a particularly tough day, I wrote my proposal. My best friend and assistant at my side. I knew I needed more than a weekend away. More than a manicure and a hot bath. I needed a fresh canvas and new paint. I needed to shake off the old, get rid of my inner clutter and create a space in my life for renewal.I needed to regroup and renew physically, emotionally and intellectually. and I wanted somehow contribute to the renewal of other women who, like me, are seeking renewal.
I wanted to capture my research, share my journey and hear from you! I am creating this venue so that we can learn from one another.
